Spec Ops (game)

Spec Ops is a series of games for the PC, PlayStation and Dreamcast systems. There were many incarnations of the games with no clear chronology after the first few original PC games, suffice to say there were a good deal of the games and expansive add-on packs made by different developers, although mainly Runecraft Ltd. and published by Take-Two Interactive from 1998 to 2002. History

The Spec Ops franchise was intended to be a realistic first/third person shooter experience and immerse the player in the world of international terrorists and the like with the player trying to stop them in a two man team, originally developed by Ripcord Games for the PC. The first two games developed by Ripcord were well received; the Playstation, and other console, ports (developed by Runecraft) were more of a budget priced shooter experience however.
