Stephen Schlesinger (born August 17, 1942) is an author and political commentator. He is an Adjunct Fellow at the
Century Foundation in New York City. He served as Director of theWorld Policy Institute at theNew School University from 1997-2006. He is the son of historian Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr.Biography
Schlesinger graduated from
Harvard University with a B.A. in 1964, and earned his J.D. fromHarvard Law School in 1968. In 1970, he began publishing, with other former supporters ofRobert F. Kennedy andEugene J. McCarthy , "The New Democrat", a monthly magazine dedicated to uniting "the left and radical wings"Citation
