Atagün Yalçınkaya (born
December 14 ,1986 inAltındağ district ofAnkara ,Turkey ) is a Turkish boxer in thebantamweight (54kg) division best known to sensationally winning silver at light-flyweight at the 2004 Olympics.Amateur
He started boxing very early and won six titles in the schoolboys and cadets categories in Turkey.
He was successful as a teenager at international tournaments, in 2003 with a 1st place in Balaton Tournament in
Hungary , a 3rd place in Green Hill Cup,Pakistan and a 1st place in European Students Boxing championship,Italy .He competed at light-flyweight in the
2004 Summer Olympics inAthens ,Greece and won a silver medal for Turkey onAugust 29 ,2004 by beatingAlfonso Pinto and reigning worldchampSergey Kazakov . With his age of 17, he was the youngest medal-wining sportsman in the Turkish Olympics history
