He is most widely known for his role as David Hasslehoff's son, Hobie Buchannon, on the popular television show Baywatch. Following the series' success (and his status as a teen idol), Jackson recorded an album and had two top 10 singles, he toured across Europe and was later invited into the World Music Hall of Fame, and was inducted into the Young Hollywood Hall of Fame in 1996. Jackson was featured in "Vanity Fair's" exclusive Hollywood Issue in March 2006. Jackson recently admitted during an interview on his E! He partly attributes his decision to leave Baywatch to his drug problem. The drugs made him feel that working on the show was beneath him. After being arrested in a methamphetamine raid and a long stint in a drug rehab, Jackson says he has finally beat his addiction, remaining clean and sober since 2000. Jeremy Jackson's recent comeback into the Hollywood spot light has helped bring even more attention to the current dangerous young Hollywood drug crisis. The outspoken Jackson was then brought on as a guest to the News Talk Show "The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch" on CNBC to talk about methamphetamines in Hollywood. He also spoke of his ups and downs with drug addiction on the ABC talk show The View.

In 2008, a sex tape of Jackson and adult video star Sky Lopez was offered for sale. Jackson claimed that he was physically threatened into giving the tape to men who claimed that they represented Lopez.
