Chicago Fire in the2005 MLS SuperDraft , but never played a game in MLS, and instead spent time withCharleston Battery in theUSL First Division . He joinedUSL Second Division sideWilmington Hammerheads in 2006, and then returned to South Africa, where he played for theVodacom League teamAlexandra United for his former coachFarouk Khan .While in South Africa for a couple of years, Khumalo became involved in a non-profit organisation called
Bahludi ka Kitso (Victors through Knowledge) , which is focused on social development of South African youth using sport and education as the primary tools for achieving change.
