Al-Madinah International University

Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) is a Web-based Islamic University which allows students to graduate at their chosen careers within the Islamic paradigm. MEDIU also allows freedom for students to study online in their own time, at any time, the areas of Islamic Sciences, Arabic Language, Business Studies, Information Technology and Education.

The Genesis

The idea of establishing Al-Madinah International University was mooted by a group of renowned Muslim scholars who wanted to provide contemporary Muslims with modern yet suitable educational tools.

MEDIU was named after Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, the sacred city where Prophet Muhammad established the capital of the first Islamic state, which is also considered as the qiblah for those seeking Islamic knowledge.

MEDIU obtained approval as a university from the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) on December 26 2006 and subsequently being registered on June 20 2007.

MEDIU operates under Malaysia's Private Higher Education Act of 1996 (Act 555) which governs its establishment and the administration in order to prepare and provide a conducive learning environment for students of higher learning.
