Hills Bank and Trust Company is a bank based in Hill, Iowa, U.S.A. with additional offices in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids and other communities in eastern Iowa. The bank was founded in 1904, and is a subsidiary of Hills Bancorporation, a holding company established on December 12, 1982. The bank's Hills office was the scene of bloodshed in December 1985 when a farmer, Dale Burr, 63 years old, shot and killed bank president John Hughes. Burr also killed Burr's wife and another farmer, and then killed himself.
