Continental Crawler were contemporaries of the The Misfits, also from Lodi, NJ. During the mid 1970s, the Misfits' lead singer
Glenn Danzig was a member of several groups, such asWhodat andBoojang ,Sheba , andProstitutes of New York , playing original material with drummerJim Catania and guitarists Stevie Lin and Chaz Jones. In 1977, Catania and Lin joined up with bassist Mike Myers, and became Continental Crawler; Chaz Jones then joined on keyboards and guitar.Lin and Jones were Danzig’s first writing partners, uniting his lyrics with original music from Lin and Jones. Catania eventually moved into the drummer’s chair for the Misfits. It's Catania's drumming that can be heard on the Misfits'
Static Age CD (from the 1978 Mercury recording sessions). By the end of 1978, Catania left the Misfits and returned to Continental Crawler full-time. Continental Crawler produced its own record - a 45 RPM EP called “Promotional Pollution”.Reunion
In 2008, Continental Crawler released a new compact disc entitled “Continental Crawler: The Anthology 1977-79….. Cars, Cards and Questionable Women”, which features the original six studio tracks Continental Crawler recorded in 1979, as well as live concert recordings, demo tracks, experiments, and basement tapes. All four original members reunited in 2007 to record the new track on the CD, “Your Girlfriend’s Got a Problem”.
