History

IBM Database Magazine is the new name of the publication (and companion Web site) formerly known as DB2 Magazine. The current name reflects the magazine's coverage of other IBM database software in addition to DB2 [ [http://www.ibmdatabasemag.com/story/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=206800435 Article on the renaming of DB2 Magazine as IBM Database Magazine] ] . Although DB2 Magazine had included regular articles about Informix technology since 2005 [ [http://www.ibmdatabasemag.com/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=59300615 DB2 Magazine article about new Informix columns] ] , the magazine's name didn't reflect that coverage. IBM acquired Informix's database technology in 2001 [ [http://www.crn.com/it-channel/18823354 Article on IBM's Informix acquisition] ] .

Other site elements include a blog with categories for DB2 performance and certification, Informix, and general information management topics, and category pages that separate content into topics areas (DB2, Informix, U2, Application Development, and so on). The site features archives from IBM Database Magazine and DB2 Magazine from 1996 to the present.
