Łukta ( _de. Locken) is a village in Mazury, in Poland, located in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in Ostróda County. Within the county it is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Łukta.

The village is the location of a local road junction, where three voivodship roads are meet: .

In the years between 1975-1998, the village was in Olsztyn Voivodeship.

Łukta is located near the Łukta river. In the village, there are: football sport club "Warmiak Łukta", foundation of Łukta development "Fundacja Rozwoju Regionu Łukta", church with enclosure and tower, restaurants, groceries and a dairy.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1340, and localized (maybe again) in 1352.In the year 1414, in time of wars, the village was destroyed by Polish army. In this time, four taverns, one mill and twelve households were burned down.

Historical buildings

A Gothic church (of Black Madonna of Częstochowa) was built in 1407, the tower was added in 1700. In main altar there is a triptych from about 1580, with a sculpture of the Madonna made of wood. The pulpit comes from XVI century. In the church, there are two grave slabs from XVII century: of "Achacy Borck" and his wife.
