Richie Stanaway, born November 24, 1991, is a race car driver from Tauranga, New Zealand. Stanaway is originally from a speedway background, competing in Stockcars and had a brief foray into Kart racing before winning the New Zealand SpeedSport Scholarship in his first attempt, becoming the first driver to do so without any previous testing. He finished a respectable third in the championship, along with the rookie of the year title and the One Hour Grand Prix win to top of a great season. He is currently set to contest the Formula Ford championship in a new Hamilton based race team TSR Racing alongside team mate Martin Short. The main difference with the new team is they will be running the new Mygale Formula Ford chassis.

Richie's goal is to call motor racing his profession, whether it be in the footsteps of Red Bull Junior Team member Brendon Hartly in Europe, or in V8 Supercars after the success of fellow scholarship winner Shane Van Gisbergen.
