Acrid Point

Acrid Point

Acrid Point (coord|56|17|S|27|36|W|) is a low-lying headland between Stench Point and Pacific Point on the northwest side of Zavodovski Island, South Sandwich Islands. The name, applied by United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) in 1971, refers to the acrid volcanic fumes emitted on the west side of the island.
