(2005)"The Very Best of The Velvet Underground" is a
compilation album byThe Velvet Underground . It was released inEurope onMarch 31 ,2003 , byPolydor , therecord label that oversees the band'sUniversal Music Group back catalogue.About the album
The album is a regular, balanced best-of compilation that draws from all four
canonical studio albums. It is notable for including three songs from "White Light/White Heat ", usually the compilers' least favourite album due to its uncommercial sound. "The Very Best of The Velvet Underground" was released on the back of a successful Hyundaitelevision advert , which featured the band's 1970 recording "I'm Sticking with You" off "Loaded (Fully Loaded Edition)". The version included in this compilation is the 1969 "VU" take, however, despite the cover sticker's claim to the contrary.Track listing
