Burmese monasteries

Burmese monasteries refer to those Buddhist monasteries that belong to the Burmese culture. They can be inside Myanmar or abroad, there were the Burmese culture has been settled through migration.

The Burmese Buddhism belongs to the Theravada tradition as most of the Southeast Asian nations. The monastery is also called pagoda, being Myanmar a country famous for its pagodas.

Outside Myanmar, there are some Burmese monasteries in countries like United States, Japan, England, India, Singapore and Malaysia.

* Burmese Monasteries in the United States: In California Pomona, GrandView, Azusa and Dhamma Ramsi; in New York Mahasi leaded by the Venerable Buddhist monk Kawthala. There is only one of the Silashin school in California.
