He studied at St Martins School of Art and then Winchester School of Art where he received his BA Hons in Fine Art. He was 'Artist in Residence' at the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas in 2007. [ [http://www.chinati.org/information/air2007lee.php Chinati.org] ] .

Despite Lee’s range of subject matter and media, reviewers have often noted how his art references the cultural impact of male queerness.
