Western Pacific Orthopaedic Association Congress inBangkok, Thailand by Vajaradul,Alain Patel ofFrance andNorberto Agcaoili ofthe Philippines , with itsSecretariat at Bangkok Biomaterial Center. In October 1988, during the Third International Conference on Locomotor Tissue Bank in Bangkok, the new association was born and renamedAsia-Pacific Association of Surgical Tissue Banking (APASTB). The founding members included Vajaradul andAziz Nather , who became the President and First Vice-President respectively, a post he served to from 1988 to 1990.Vajaradul was awarded the
Ordre national du Mérite by Ambassador Coster, Embassy of France to Thailand on24 June , 1999.Vajaradul was awarded an honorary membership of the
