Astraea Nunatak (coord|71|59|S|70|25|W|) is a
nunatak 6mile s (10 km) south ofStaccato Peaks in southernAlexander Island . Mapped from trimetrogon air photography taken byRonne Antarctic Research Expedition (RARE), 1947-48, and from survey byFalkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS), 1948-50. Named byUnited Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) after one of the asteroids lying between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.
