Azimuth Island

Azimuth Island

Azimuth Island (coord|67|32|S|62|44|E|) is the largest of the Azimuth Islands lying in Holme Bay, Mac Robertson Land. Mapped by Norwegian cartographers from air photos taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition, 1936-37. So named by Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) because the island was included in a triangulation survey by ANARE (Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions) in 1959.
