- Haggits Pillar
Haggits Pillar (coord|67|24|S|179|55|W|) is a column of rock (65 m) in the
South Pacific Ocean , lying 0.1 miles (0.2 km) west ofScott Island and some 315 miles (500 km) north-northeast ofCape Adare ,Victoria Land . Discovered in December 1902 by CaptainWilliam R. Colbeck ,Royal Navy Reserve , commander of the Morning, relief ship to the "Discovery" expedition, 1901-04, under Scott. The name was used on official charts of the "Discovery" expedition drawn by LieutenantGeorge F.A. Mulock .
