Wüsthof Dreizackwerk (Wüsthof Trident in English) is a
knife -maker based inSolingen ,Germany . They are family owned, currently the 7th generation under Harald Wüsthof. The company is noted for its very high quality knives. All Wüsthof knives are precision forged except for the laser cut Silverpoint series, the stamped Emeril series, and the Gourmet series. The quality of knives is the result of a system of forty manufacturing processes each knife undergoes.Fact|date=April 2007While mainly a kitchen-knife maker, the company also sells kitchen shears, pocket knives and other cooking accessories, although on a smaller scale than its main competitor, Henckels. Wüsthof knives and gear are widely available through retailers and online and mail order channels.

Its main series are Ikon (forged with traditional triple riveted handles, contemporary update to the Classic range), Classic Ikon (same as Ikon but with black handles), Classic (forged with traditional triple riveted handle), Le Cordon Bleu (almost identical to Classic range but with smaller bolster to lessen weight, endorsed by Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, Paris), Culinar (contemporary design, with stainless steel handles), Grand Prix II (updated version of the Grand Prix range with ergonomic handle. Also available as Grand Prix II Colour with different coloured handles), Gourmet (lower end design, similar to Classic in looks but with no bolster and stamped blades rather than forged. moulded/riveted handle design), Silverpoint (low end budget knives, stamped blades and moulded handles), Emeril (low end consumer grade knives with stamped blades).
The Classic line has a common three-rivet handle made of
polypropylene . The knives in the collection feature the full-tang, and like all Wüsthof knives, have the formula "X 50 Cr Mo 15" etched into the blade. The Grand Prix line has a rivetless concealed tang. Both the Classic and Grand Prix lines along with two lines made by Wusthof were the top rated knives in a test of knives by "Consumer Reports " in November 2005, and are consistently given high ratings by "Cook's Illustrated " magazine as well. The Culinar line is made purely from steel, is rivetless and has a concealed tang.Wusthof knives are used by famous chefs worldwide including Gordon Ramsay (Classic Ikon range as seen in books and DVDs as well as on the F Word and Cookalong with Gordon Ramsay on Channel 4), Jamie Oliver (both Classic and Ikon ranges seen on Channel 4 series Jamie At Home), James Martin (Culinar range seen on BBC's Saturday Kitchen)
