Box2D is a free open source 2-dimensional physics simulator engine written in C++ by "Erin Catto". It is best known for being used in Crayon Physics Deluxe and for winning grand prize in the Independent Games Festival.

* Incremental sweep and prune broadphase
* Stable stacking with a linear-time solver
