Iapetus Nunatak (coord|71|36|S|70|15|W|) is an isolated
nunatak at the southwest margin ofSatellite Snowfield , about midway between theWalton Mountains andStaccato Peaks in southernAlexander Island . Mapped by Directorate ofOverseas Surveys from satellite imagery supplied by U.S.National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in cooperation withU.S. Geological Survey . Named byUnited Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) from association withSaturn Glacier (nearby to the east), after Iapetus, one of the satellites of Saturn.
