Kevin Burnett (born December 24, 1982 in Carson, California) is an American football player who is currently a linebacker for the NFL's Dallas Cowboys.Kevin is the host of the Dallas Cowboys Insider blog on The Dallas Morning News website.

High school career

Burnett attended Dominquez High School in Compton, California. While there, in football, he was a member of the 1999 Prep Star All-America team,a second-team All-State choice, and a member of the "Best of the West" by the "Long Beach Press-Telegram". He also helped lead his team to two consecutive playoff appearances. He is the cousin of NBA D-League star Amir Johnson.
