Young Glacier

Young Glacier (coord|78|4|S|84|49|W|type:glacier_region:AQ|display=inline,title) is a glacier which flows east for 8 miles (13 km) and terminates at the north end of Barnes Ridge on the east side of Sentinel Range, Ellsworth Mountains. First mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1957-59. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for First Lieutenant Dale L. Young, United States Air Force (USAF), who participated in establishing the South Pole Station in the 1956-57 season.
