David Husted (b. April 12, 1960), of Milwaukie, Oregon, was a right-handed professional ten-pin bowler and member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA). He was inducted into the PBA Hall of Fame in 1996.
Dave Husted joined the PBA in 1978, and won 14 titles on the PBA Tour. He was one of the most dominant bowlers in the prestigious U.S. Open, a PBA major which he won three times (1982, 1995 and 1996). The 1995 victory was in front of the largest crowd to ever witness a PBA event: 7,212 at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, MI. Only Pete Weber has won more modern-day U.S. Open titles (4).
Husted was well respected by his peers, before winning back-to-back PBA Steve Nagy Sportsmanship Awards in 1988 and 1989. He was also the ninth PBA player in history to eclipse the $1 million mark in career earnings.[1] Dave was ranked #23 on the PBA's 2008 list of "50 Greatest Players of the Last 50 Years."
