Preserve Our Island

Preserve Our Islands is a grassroots organization, created by residents of Maury Island (Washington, USA), that is opposed to Glacier Northwest and their efforts to mine aggregate on Maury Island. Preserve Our Islands “is committed to serving the interests of the Vashon/Maury Island community by insuring that the proper scientific data is available to permitting agencies and that all environmental and legal protections are brought to full consideration.” On POI's website ( [http://www.preserveourislands.org] ) there is a wealth of information about Maury Island for the public to become knowledgeable. This information includes environmental reports, photos of the island, newspaper articles, news updates and how to get involved.
