Founded in Los Angeles in 1976 as a Voice Over recording studio and training center for aspiring Film/Television actors, The Actors Workshop remains one of California’s oldest and most respected acting programs. In 1980 the workshop dropped its voice-over program and began concentrating solely on Film Acting [South County News, September 15, 1991, by Marnie McLoed] . In the first six months the workshop doubled its enrollment and by the following year began attracting the attention some of Hollywood’s top Casting Directors and agents. In early 1990, the workshop added a three camera state of- the- art Television studio. Television and film directors such as Dennis Steinmetz,
