January 5 1970 ) is an Italian singer, the former lead singer of the groupEiffel 65 . He is currently lead singer of the bandBloom 06 with ex-Eiffel memberMaurizio Lobina .Early life
Randone was born in
Lentini ,Sicily ; his father was a guitarist and saxophone player. When he was two, he moved to the United States with his parents, and lived in Brooklyn, New York. Ten years later, they moved back to Italy.He formed his first band, ICU, when he was seventeen, using several computers to program the music. In 1991, he met Massimo Gabutti, head of Bliss Corporation. Through the assistance of Gabutti, Jey launched his musical career as the singer of
Bliss Team . Through this time, he was studyingaccounting at a university, but couldn't finish his degree due to the success of the dance hit "Love Is Forever".Throughout the 1990s he met future bandmates
Maurizio Lobina andGabry Ponte , who was aDJ collaborating with many groups such asDa Blitz .Music career
In 1998, Jey and Lobina composed and released the song "
Blue (Da Ba Dee) ", which received little profit at first. A few months later, it started to become locally popular, then nationally, before finally it was released internationally. Reaching #1 in many countries, Jey grouped with Lobina and Ponte, and formedEiffel 65 . They released their debut album, "Europop" in 1999. Contact! ", was released in 2001. The self-titled third album followed in 2003, and was almost completely in Italian, although an English version of the album was released soon after.In 2005, band member
Gabry Ponte left Eiffel 65 to focus on his solo career, leaving Jey and Maurizio Lobina with Eiffel. They decided to drop the name Eiffel 65 and change it toBloom 06 . Bloom 06's first album, released in 2006, was entitled "Crash Test 01 ". This was supposed to be Eiffel 65's 4th studio album before they broke up. Their first single for the album was "In The City". In May 2008 they have released the follow-up album, "Crash Test 02 ".External links
