The Robba fountain ( _sl. Robbov vodnjak), officially known as the Fountain of the Three Rivers of Carniola ( _sl. "Vodnjak treh kranjskih rek"), is a fountain in the city of
Ljubljana , the capital ofSlovenia . It was originally located outside theLjubljana town hall near the St. Nicholas Cathedral. In2006 , the fountain was renovated and moved into the National Gallery, while an exact copy was placed in its previous site on the Town Square.The fountain was designed between
1743 and1751 by the Italian sculptroFrancesco Robba who, inspired byBernini 's Fountain of the Four Rivers onPiazza Navona during a visit toRome , designed the fountain to represent the three rivers ofCarniola :Ljubljanica ,Sava and Krka.
