Ljubljana Zoo

Ljubljana Zoo ( _sl. Živalski vrt Ljubljana) is a zoo in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It serves as the national zoo of Slovenia.

The zoo covering 19,6 hectares is situated on the southern slope of the Rožnik hill, in a natural environment of woods and meadows approximately 20 minutes at a regular pace by foot from the city centre. The zoo is notable in that the city is at the intersection of the Alpine, Pannonian and Mediterranean habitats and has 152 species and a total of 580 animals [ [http://www.ljubljana.si/en/tourism/ljubljana/points_of_interest/zoo/ www.Ljubljana.si] ] .

It is open daily during the summer from 9:00 to 19:00 and from 9:00 to 16:00 in winter.

Tourists can obtain a Ljubljana Card pass and get a 15 percent discount on accessing the zoo.
