Terry Heffernan

Terry Heffernan (born 1952) is a political activist from New Zealand. He was originally a stalwart of the Social Credit Party, standing for them in the Christchurch Central by-election 1979, where he pushed National into third place; Labour’s Geoffrey Palmer won.

He stood in Wanganui in the 1981, 1984, 1987, 1990 and 1993 general elections for the Social Credit Party, Democratic Party twice, Alliance Party, and the New Zealand First Party.In 1987 he was second to Labour's Russell Marshall, who had an election night majority of only 27. In 1996 he stood for New Zealand First in Albany, against Murray McCully.

In the New Zealand general election 2008, he is the National Party candidate for the Christchurch electorate of Port Hills.
