Munich and was the only son ofPrince Konrad of Bavaria and his wifePrincess Bona Margherita of Savoy-Genoa .Marriage
On November 16, 1970 Prince Eugen married
Countess Helene von Khevenhüller-Metsch , the daughter ofCount Franz von Khevenhüller-Metsch andPrincess Anna von Fürstenberg . Countess Helene was previously married toPrince Konstantin of Bavaria who lost his life in a tragic plane crash on July 30, 1969. The civil ceremony took place inMunich and the religious wedding followed five days later inInnsbruck ,Austria . The couple did not have any children together.Later life
The prince was a Grand Prior of the Bavarian Order of Saint George, Knight of the Order of Saint Hubert and a Knight of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.
Death
Prince Eugen of Bavaria died on January 1, 1997 at
Grasse in theAlpes-Maritimes region of France. He is buried at the Andechs Abbey cemetery in Bavaria.References
