Agua Fria High School is a high school located in Avondale, Arizona. They are one of 4 high schools in the Agua Fria Union High School District No. 216. Their school mascot is the mighty owl. The school colors are scarlet red and gray. In sports, they are a member of the Arizona Intersholastic Association (AIA) and compete in the Class 4A (AAAA) West Valley Region. Agua Fria has many sports teams. The other schools in the district are Goodyear Millennium H.S. Tigers, Goodyear Desert Edge H.S. Scorpions, Buckeye Verrado H.S. Vipers and a 5th high school to be built in 2010.
Agua Fria was established in 1957, and is the oldest school in its district. It is a school of great pride and diversity, and has a rivalry with the Millennium High school.
Agua Fria has a very effect. The Night Owl Jazz band regularly performs at jazz festivals throughout the Phoenix Area, and has qualified for the Arizona State Jazz Festival in both 2006 and 2007.
Agua Fria and Millennium High School have become great rivals striving to conquer each other on the field and in the class rooms.
Athletics
The school offers a wide variety of athletics, including baseball, football, soccer and basketball. Many famous athletic alumni to come from Agua Fria Union High School is former Major League Baseball player Shawn Gilbert, former Arizona State and Minnesota Vikings Player Randall McDaniel.
Clubs
The school also has a large amount of clubs and organizations. There is a Bible club, the Future Business Leaders of America, film club among others associated with the school.
