Julius Yankowsky

Julius Edward Yankowsky is a former provincial level politician from Alberta, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1993 until he was defeated in 2004.

Political career

Yankowsky was first elected to the Alberta Legislature in the 1993 Alberta general election. He defeated incumbent New Democrat MLA Ed Ewasiuk to win the new electoral district of Edmonton Beverly-Belmont for the Liberals.cite web|url=http://www.abheritage.ca/abpolitics/database/maps_choice.asp?Year=19&Constit=Edmonton-Beverly-Bel | title=Edmonton Beverly-Belmont 1993 official results | publisher=Alberta Heritage|accessdate=2008-03-16] A year into his first term in office Yankowsky crossing the floor to sit as a Progressive Conservative. He was re-elected to his second term in office in the 1997 Alberta general election. The election in 1997 was hotly contested as he won the new electoral district of Edmonton Beverly-Clareview.
