Twenty-Fourth Air Force is a proposed Numbered Air Force that was to be a component of Air Force Cyber Command (AFCYBER). It was planned to be intermediate echelon responsible primarily for all AFCYBER units in the United States. On October 6, 2008, the Air Force announced that the activation of AFCYBER would not occur, and that a numbered air force, presumably the Twenty-fourth Air Force, would gain the cyber warfare mission as part of Air Force Space Command.
