Lalita (gopi)

Lalita the name of one of the principal gopis within traditional Gaudiya Vaishnava worship of Radha and Krishna.

Among the gopis

Within Vaishnava theology and especially within Gaudiya Vaishnava theology, Lalita is included amongst the eight principle gopis, known as 'sakhis'. Within these eight, Lalita in the main gopi who serves Radha and Krishna. Her mother is Saradi and her father is Vishoka. Her husband is Bhairava, a friend of Govardhana Malla, the husband of Chandravali.
