infantry regiment of theCanadian Army . Originally founded in 1866 as the 28th Perth Battalion of Infantry the regiment went through several name changes including: 1900 - 28th Perth Regiment; 1920 - The Perth Regiment; 1936 - The Perth Regiment (M.G.); 1941 - The Perth Regiment (Motor); and returned to its present title in 1946. In 1954, as a result of the Kennedy Report on the Reserve Army, this regiment was amalgamated with theHighland Light Infantry of Canada to form The Perth and Waterloo Regiment (Highland Light Infantry of Canada).The Perth Regiment was allied to the
Cameronians , theOtago Regiment of New Zealand,26th Battalion of Australia, and theWitwatersrand Rifles of South Africa. They were kitted with a green glengarry c/w green & white diced border, grey sporran with three black points, Douglas hose, green garter flashes and the band wore trews. The Regiment perpetuated the 110th Battalion C.E.F and held its final Order of Precedence as 16.Battle Honours
