Danish submissions for Academy Award for Best Foreign Film. The first film to be nominated was "Qivitoq" released 1956. Since 1970 Denmark has sent in one movie every year, only missing out in 1974, 1981, 1982 and 1996. Seven films from Denmark have been nominated for the Academy Award: "Qivitoq" (1959), "Paw" (1960), "Harry and the Butler" (1961), "Babette's Feast" (1988), "Pelle the Conqueror" (1989), "Memories of a Marriage" (1990) and "After the Wedding" (2007). Two Danish movies have won the Oscar: "Babette's Feast" (1988) and "Pelle the Conqueror" (1989).
