University of London Boat Club

University of London Boat Club

University of London Boat Club (abbreviated to ULBC or just UL) is the rowing club for the University of London, covering all the university's constituent Colleges (although many of these have their own boat club also). The club has its boat house on the River Thames in Chiswick, London, United Kingdom.

The club was formed in the mid 1860s, and since 1950 has won 33 Henley Regatta finals, produced 125 full internationals winning 363 vests, achieving a total of 74 medals between them - 21 gold, 19 silver and 34 bronze. At U23 Internationals and World Student Games events the club has won 177 vests and produced 30 medal winning crews (9 gold, 9 silver and 12 bronze).

Along with the Oxford University Boat Club, Cambridge University Boat Club and Durham University Boat Club, ULBC was considered one of the best university rowing clubs in the country. The 2007/2008 season was a poor one for the university, their main crew in Henley Royal Regatta (entered in the Temple Challenge Cup) losing to Birmingham in a shock first-round exit.
