Majlis Perbandaran Seberang Perai (MPSP) or Municipal Council of Province Wellesley is a local authority which administers Seberang Perai and other areas. This agency is under Penang state government. MPSP are responsible for public health and sanitation, waste removal and management, town planning, environmental protection and building control, social and economic development and general maintenance functions of urban infrastructure. The MPSP main headquarters is located at Bandar Perda, Bukit Mertajam.
