Bruce Samuel Seldon (born
January 30 ,1967 ) is an American boxer who held theWorld Boxing Association Heavyweight title from1995 to1996 . It was after a boxing match between Seldon andMike Tyson thatTupac Shakur was shot 4 times in a drive-by shooting that eventually killed the famed rapper. Seldon lost his WBA Heavyweight Championship when he lost by TKO in the first round against Tyson.Many fans allege that Seldon took a "dive" in the Tyson fight.Amateur career
Seldon compiled an amateur record of 20-4 and won the New Jersey Golden Gloves Super Heavyweight Championship.
Professional career
Known as "The Atlantic City Express", Seldon began his career on
October 4 ,1988 with a first-round knockout of Joel McGraw and won his fighteldon vs. Tyson
Thirteen months after the Hipp bout Seldon was beaten by Mike Tyson at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. In the first round, a Tyson hook appeared to graze the top of Seldon's head. Even though he never got hit cleanly, he went down two times, the fight was stopped soon after prompting the crowd to shout "Fix".

Bruce retired for 7 1/2 years (and served time in prison) before returning to the ring on
March 6 ,2004 when he registered a third-round knockout overOtis Tisdale and one month later he dispatched Lenzie Morgan in two rounds. The third bout of his comeback wasMay 15 ,2004 , versus undefeated prospectGerald Nobles . Bruce knocked Nobles down in round two and was up on the official scorecards after 8 rounds. Early in round 9 Bruce was thumbed in the eye and was unable to continue. Nobles was awarded a 9th-round TKO victory. In his next contest, onOctober 28 ,2005 , an out of shape and overweight Seldon(263lbs) was stopped in the second round byTye Fields . On February 10, 2007 a rejuvenated and well conditioned Seldon (235 lbs) stopped journeyman Marcus Rhode, via TKO at 1:05 of the first round. On April 11, 2007 Bruce scored his second straight comeback victory by stopping Jay Sweetman in round 2. Seldon weighed in at 230 pounds, 5 less than the Rhode fight just one month earlier and over 30 pounds lighter than his last fight prior to this comeback.Bruce Seldon's current career record: 37 Wins, 6 Losses, 0 Draws (33 KO)
