Palama

Palama is the traditional Hawaiian name of a district within the judicial district of Honolulu, on the island of Oahu, in the State of Hawaii. The name refers to an enclosure of "lama" ("Diospyros" spp.) or persimmon wood. The "lama" wood was sacred to the Hawaiian goddess of hula, Laka.
