"Pop Fiction" is an American practical joke television series on E!, hosted by Peter Katona and produced by Ashton Kutcher. In the spirit of Punk'd, the show produces fake gossip for the paparazzi.

Tagline

"Is it real, or is it Pop Fiction?"Celebrities who try to trick the reporters say the tagline "Is it real, or is it Pop Fiction?" at the end of the clips, similar to Punk'd, where celebrities say "I just got punk'd!"

Episodes

E! never shows any clips of any unaired episode, so people will be shocked.

Episode 4 was slatted for April 13, 2008, but never aired. The series has most likely been canceled.

Rumored Episodes

*The recent tabloid story depicting Britney Spears picking up a random, shirtless pedestrian is rumored to be featured on the season finale of the show. [ [http://www.breatheheavy.com/exhale/viewthread.php?tid=39315&page=1#pid639615 Exhale - Powered by XMB 1.9.7 Nexus (RC3) ] ]

Controversy

Pop Fiction appears identical to a treatment that Anna Nicole Smith registered with the Writers Guild in 2004 called "Celebrities Strike Back." Anna Nicole and Howard K. Stern met with Jeff Shore and Jay James, both programming execs for E! and pitched the show and sent Shore the treatment.
