Fiction Scene

Fiction Scene were a popular early 1990s synth techno pop band consisting of Brian Michael Travers, John Beninati, Billy Canell, Steve Williams and Vinny Gubin. The band had a faithful underground following and were regular featured headliners at local New York clubs such as the Limelight, Palladium and CBGB's. The Fiction Scene had three top 10 college music journal (CMJ report) hits including "Now and Forever", "Good Enough" and "Undeniable" Samples of back ground midi bass tracks created by Travers/Beninati were used in many techno tracks (Alternative Music Press) The band was managed by James Citkovic and Ralph Beauchamp of Countdown Entertainment. The Fiction Scene were produced by the hit making team of Katz and Kasnetz of the Black Betty fame.

Travers was reportedly linked romantically to Eva Herzigova in late 1990 through 1992 (NYC BEAT Village Voice). Brian Michael Travers still lives in New York City. Drummer,Vincent Gubin went on to become a top trader at Morgan Stanley and still lives in New York City. Guitarist Bill Canell still plays live in various bands in New York City.
