Holy Infant Montessori Center

Holy Infant Montessori Center

Holy Infant Montessori Center (HIMC), is an institutional facility situated at the entrance of the BF Homes Phase I, Bgy. 169 in the First District of Caloocan City in Metro Maila in the Philippines. It was founded in the summer of 1977 by Carmencita Hernandez - Reyes in a residence at the West Triangle. A year later, HIMC was established in BF Homes Caloocan. By 1983, the grade school department was founded. 1986 was a milestone for HIMC when the Department of Education(formerly known as DECS) gave HIMC a Recognition Status for its PreSchool department. This was followed by Complete Elementary Courses recognized in 1988.

It was 1992, when Mr. Gerard H. Reyes, Mrs. Reyes' son, headed the HIMC Administration as Director with his father Mr. Domingo Reyes as president. In 1996, HIMc opened the high school department, integrating computer education in its curriculum. The first set of High School graduates were presented on the year 2000. HIMC is now running for over thirty years.

This SSG (2008 - 2009) marked the history of both the SSG of HIMC and the SSG Federation of Caloocan City. With the winning of Fernandez as the Caloocan City SSG Federation President, HIMC High School SSG Adviser, Ms. Editha Lanuza is automatically the adviser of the SSG Federation of Caloocan City. On the other hand, the current vice president, Wednesday Junio, is the younger sister of last year's president Abyy Junio.

The School Paper

The Oracle was established in July 2006, under the tutelage of Mr. Christopher G. Mata, then History and English Teacher for 3rd year and 4th Year Students. The campus paper is entitled The Oracle. Oracle means shrine or deities of knowledge. Oracle Alumni, Mr. Mediaco Villar and Ms. Ana Adona suggested its name. The first editor-in-chief of The Oracle was Vida Valkyrie Subingsubing, now an AB BroadComm student of UP-Diliman and the first associate editor was Julius Romel Fernandez. The first batch of The Oracle are also referred to as the "Founding Mothers" (The name was supposed to be "fathers" but because majority of the members were girls it was "mothers"). The other members of the Founding Fathers are as follows:

Ana Isabel AdonaFatima BolibolRosalinde Marie Conda Allyssa DansMarinelle DimaanoFaith ElaydoAbigail EsperoShanree IcoNina Ana MarianoJonnalyn PadriquezKatrina RualloPatricia Mae SeldaMaree Barbara TungolMediaco Miguel Villar Edrick Parenas

The next year, Ms. Reena Perico, a graduate of BSE Major in English of the UP Diliman became the moderator and the school year 2007 - 2008 staffers were:

Editor-in-Chief: Julius Romel Fernandez
Managing Editor: Norelie Birtiz
Circulation Manager: Rich Ann Ellado
News Editor: Paulyn dela Reyna
Feature Editor: Eleanor Cortez
Literary Editor: Frances Marie Elizaga
Sports Editor: Norbert James Aliling
Layout Editor: Aisleen Ico
Science and Resource: Kristine Miranda
DevCom Editor: Patty Maxine Acacio
Cartoonist: Edrick John Parenas
Photojournalist: Marwin de Guzman
Secretary: Ma. Loura Karmela Bandola
PIO: Estella Zenaida Javien
News Contributor: Airil Florendo

Now, Ms. Editha J. Lanuza and Ms. Regina Celine I. Hernandez are the moderators of the school paper team. And Julius Romel Fernandez is still the Editor-in-Chief. The staffers are as follows:

Dessa Matuguinas (the-musical-queen)
Lester Danganan (jolly-journalist)
Micah Fiel Baliclic (honorable-awardee)
Kervin Astronomo (laughing-machine)
Zorell Gerente (skeleton-king)
Lars Ben Hayahay (pride-of-the-hills)
Christine Kate Torres (silent-noisy-lady)
Gillian Capoquian (queen-of-biology)
Jocelyn Marie Gahol (happy-always-lucky)
Ricardo Lorenzo Dy (hot-mamma)
Miruelle de Guzman (shy-girl)
Chynna Aurzelle Emlano (chinese-lakambini)

The Oracle's motto is "Veritas, Par, Exigo" which means true, equal and exact respectively. And the campus paper never failed to give the HIMC students balanced and exact news and information.
