Chesterfield Coach Station

Chesterfield Coach Station

Chesterfield Coach Station opened on 3 May 2005, and is in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England. It was built on the site of the old bus station. It is owned by Stagecoach and is served by Stagecoach Express, Megabus and National Express coach services.

Controversy

The 'new' bus station is seen as controversial by many. Amongst the complaints are that the new building contains no toilet facilities (other than a 20p 'portaloo' style unit), no shop, cafe or vending facilities & no waiting area to speak of.The building cost an estimated £500,000 & is seen by most as in no way an improvement on the previous building other that it being more structurally sound & more modern looking.
