species ofcactus . It is the sole member of thegenus "Bergerocactus", named afterAlwin Berger . The plant is also known as golden spine cereus or snake cactus, though this latter name also applies for "Echinocereus pensilis ".This cactus is frail, appear in clusters, has up to 20 ribs and ramifications. It is rarely higher than 1 m, and diameter is usually less than 5 cm. Flowers are yellow and appear near the plant's
apex , reaching 2 cm in length and diameter. They are tunnel-shaped.This plant is native to coastal southern California and Baja California.
