Clifford Conder Barker was an

Born in 1926 he was educated atOriel College, Oxford andSt Chad's College, Durham . After wartime service with theGreen Howards he wasordained priest in 1953 [Crockford's clerical directory London, Church House 1975 ISBN 0108153674] . Following a Curacy in Scarborough he rose steadily in the Church hierarchy being successivelyVicar of "Sculcoates",Rural Dean ofStokesley andPrebendary of York before elevation to the Episcopate .
