"Cheshire Country Houses", p. 270 (Phillimore; 1988) (ISBN 0 85033 655 4)] It was altered and partly rebuilt after a fire in 1907. It is built in orange and yellow brick with a red tile roof in Jacobean style. Its stable courtyard, also designed by John Douglas, is listed Grade II.
