Friederich Golz was a German scientist and researcher, who was a pioneer in
psychosurgery . He performed the firstlobotomy on dogs in1890 . His experiments involved removing portions of the dogs’temporal lobe s. As a result the dogs were more calm and less aggressive. His work inspired the first lobotomies in humans, performed by Gottlieb Burkhardt, in1892 .ee also
